Tarnów is a town i south-east Poland. It has twice increased its population in the last forty years. In order to meet religious needs of people of Tarnów Bp Joseph Życiński with a decree of 15.02. 1992 has founded a new parish - the Good Shepherd Church. Right after bishop's decision the newly appointed parish priest and his cooperators started to say Mass in a small chapel-far too small to enable 7000 parishioners to attend their weekly Mass and other devotions. Therefore in 1995 the parish council decided to build a new church and presbitery. At present this work, which started some months ago, is being continued while the curates are devoting themselves to thier pastoral work. For the time being there are active several groups, some them for kids or young people and other for adults, they are meeting together regularly in order to pray, discuss and engage in apostolic work as well. We are very proud of our parish choir and Caritas society. However, the more active we become the more clearly we realize our urgent need to have a decent church. Needless to say how deepl we appreciate any initiative which would make our dreams come true.
